Information About Xeko for Parents

Rated "G" for Green

Thank you for visiting Xeko.com. The Xeko game is a 2-player trading card game based on the principles of "organic entertainment" — entertainment that's of the highest quality, good for people, and good for the planet. It's also a real brain builder so be warned: People who play the game may experience advanced intelligence, increased memory, and a severe interest in animals, ecology, and world adventure.

Published by Matter Group, the game is based on the myth of Xeko (a secret ecological knowledge order) and real-world conservation hotspots.

Players collect and trade cards to create personalized decks and compete with friends to build the strongest Xeko-system. Game play is additive, combining both competition and cooperation. Good sportsmanship is a key Xeko trait and players always get their respective cards back at the end of a match. No game board is required.

Ages: Xeko is fun for all ages but recommended for ages 8 and older due to the level of math and reading comprehension required.

Xeko Game Basics

The Xeko game has been passed down through the ages from Xeko Master to Apprentice for the purpose of training new members, matching wits, and when wielded by the most seasoned Xeko Masters, balancing the Earthworks.

If you discover a missing rule or other lost text, submit your findings to .

Object of the game: Create the strongest Xeko-system to win the game! Gather the most Eco-points by supporting your Species cards while conserving cards in your draw pile.

A Xeko Master understands that balance is required to support any ecosystem. A balance of spending resources to support diverse—and sometimes endangered—species, as well as conserving resources for the future. The competition for resources can be fierce among species and competition between Xeko Apprentices can be equally ferocious at times.

Players take turns playing Xeko, Species, and Boost cards to create a combined Xeko-system. The game ends when one player is required to draw a card from his or her draw pile and cannot do so because the pile is empty.

Determining a winner: Once the game has ended, each player discards his or her hand to the shed pile. Beginning with the player whose turn it is, each player collects his or her species cards from the field. You can determine which species cards are yours because they are facing you.

Each player totals the number of all Eco-points on his or her Species cards. The player with the highest number of Eco-points wins the game!

Hotspot Card Download

You start a game by placing the Hotspot card in the middle of the playing field. Shared by both players, there is one Hotspot card per collection. Hotspot cards may be purchased with a Starter Set or downloaded for free on this site. Currently numbered at 34, biodiversity hotspots are specific locations around the planet where ecosystems are critically threatened.
